Since childhood, Murni founder Elke Vandormael was coping with a gluten intolerance and had difficulties finding the right diet or restaurant where she could enjoy food with having dietary problems afterwards. A few years ago, foodie Elke decided to explore the world. In Bali she found a kitchen-circuit, full of ingredients that offered her more healthy alternatives. She learned to enjoy pure unprocessed food and exotic flavors… which made her healthier & stronger. Murni in Indonesian means ‘pure’. Her new, true passions were born : food, health & mindfulness.
Today she brings all her experiences to MURNI Pure Smile Food. Together with the Shrimp Tempura Hospitality Group she opens Murni Wilrijk at Park den Brandt & Murni Zuid at Graaf Van Egmontstraat in Antwerp.
